Unit 3 Blog Post

Hi visitors! I am choosing to discuss being an online student. I am really enjoying it because it is giving me the opportunity to be flexible with a very hectic schedule. It's very easy to follow because no matter what, the deadlines are all the same, all information that is needed is in one convenient place, and the professors are all very easy to get along with. I have never liked the classroom setting. It all started when I was a kid. I grew up with 3 younger brothers and we were not exactly what you would call rich. We were on government assistance until I was old enough to get a job! My mother made our clothes until we started attending school where we were to wear uniforms. I was teased a lot about my hair and shoes and it never ceased even through high school. By that time I didn't like school, but that is a totally different story!

Even though it has been said that being in an online environment is harder than actually being in a classroom, I beg to differ. I enjoy the freedom of not attending class everyday or worrying if my roommate is going to be on her phone all night and keep me from getting valuable sleep. Even though I have 5 children, I am able to study around their schedule. Since I know my deadlines ahead of time, I know when and what I need to study in order to make it on time.

To me, an online environment is much easier to deal with especially if you are not a fan of a classroom setting.

  1. Hi Abigail,

Well, I agree with you about online classes, at least from the teacher's perspective. I like not having to commute or dress professionally. One place I taught had a dress code that required closed-toe shoes! In Florida! I refused to comply. I kept my job and set a trend! :-)

I hope you have some help with your five beautiful children. I know I never had enough help. Those years go by so fast like a blur! Enjoy them.
